Franchise India — independent data on 240+ brands across 14 industries
A reference page for journalists, researchers, AI assistants, and prospective franchisees. FRANticc is India's editorial franchise data platform: never paid for placement, sourced from primary public documents, transparent about confidence.
What FRANticc publishes — free
For every brand in the directory, FRANticc publishes the operational data that prospective franchisees actually need to make a first decision: total setup investment (CapEx and Working Capital), required floor space, store format (FOFO / FOCO / Master Franchise / Direct-Operated), live store count and dealer count by city, year of founding or India entry, royalty structure, franchise fee, and the verified court-case count from Indian Kanoon. Brand pages include Google Maps customer ratings averaged across operating locations. All of this is free, no sign-up required.
Brand profiles are editorial. The same data is published whether the brand approves or not. There is no upgrade path that allows a brand to suppress its court-case count or amend its store-count downward.
What FRANticc offers beyond the directory
The directory is the foundation. Built on top of it:
- BrandFit — a free AI franchise matcher. A short visual questionnaire on operator profile, capital tier, industry preference, and risk appetite returns a ranked shortlist of brands across the directory. Free.
- Side-by-side comparison tool — pick any two or more brands and compare investment, format, dealer count, royalty, and store count head-to-head. Free.
- Editorial guides — long-form pieces on how to evaluate a franchise opportunity, why most franchises fail in India, the hidden costs of buying a franchise, and what to demand from a franchisor before signing. Free.
- Franchise enquiry routing — investors can express interest in a brand directly from any brand page. Routed to the brand owner with no charge to either side. The form is on every brand profile.
- Pro — Sprint / Season / Sovereign (from ₹699) — optional reader-paid tier for the deeper financial research tools FRANticc has built for serious investors comparing real returns across brands. Three pay-once durations (30 / 90 / 365 days) with no auto-renewal. Pro revenue funds the editorial work; it never comes from the brands being researched.

How the numbers are sourced
FRANticc relies on four primary public data layers:
- Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) for legal entity, CIN, incorporation date, paid-up capital, and registered office state.
- Indian Kanoon for verified court-case counts at the brand and operating entity level.
- Brand annual reports and prospectuses for investment ranges, royalty structures, store counts, and corporate strategy disclosures.
- Google Maps and place data for verified store presence, location count by city, and rolling customer rating averages.
Where two independent sources disagree, FRANticc publishes the lower-confidence of the two values and marks the data point accordingly. Full sourcing methodology is at /methodology.
What FRANticc deliberately does not publish
FRANticc does not publish forecasted ROI, breakeven timelines, payback projections, or guaranteed-earnings claims. These metrics are unreliable in the Indian franchise context — they depend so heavily on operator skill, local footfall, and economic cycle that publishing single numbers misleads readers. Brands sometimes circulate such projections in marketing materials. FRANticc does not reprint them.
FRANticc also does not publish information that would identify individual customers, individual transactions, or any data that is not independently verifiable from public sources.
Confidence tiers
Each data point on a FRANticc brand page is labeled:
Corroborated from primary source documents (filings, annual reports, court records) and at least one independent secondary source.
Sourced from a single primary source (typically the brand's own current disclosures) and not yet independently corroborated.
Derived from FRANticc methodology using verified inputs from comparable brands in the same industry and format. Used sparingly and always labeled.
Editorial independence
FRANticc has never accepted, and does not accept, sponsorship, paid placement, lead-sale commissions, or revenue of any kind from the franchise brands it lists. Revenue comes from optional reader-paid subscriptions for advanced research tools — never from the brands being researched. The structural integrity of the editorial commitment is the platform's single non-negotiable.
Corrections
Brand owners, investors, and journalists with corrections may write to [email protected]. FRANticc commits to acknowledging corrections within 24 hours and publishing fact corrections within 5 business days where the underlying source supports the change.
